EKU announce last fall that they'd be remodeling the stadium to woo the ASun. You mean the Sun Belt? A-Sun doesnt play football.

May 11, 201511 yr In the press conference, they said NKU was eligible for Horizon League championships in 2015-16, so this move is with pretty much immediate effect. Conference schedule makers are going to busy over the next month or so.
May 11, 201511 yr They will be fine over time.....remember hard to recruit when you are not eligible for NCAA tourneys. And there are more sports than basketball. I think they will be fine in Volleyball. Baseball and Softball, Golf, and Tennis it might be easier to compete against schools that are also hindered by the weather. Soccer I have no clue about. They will be able to compete in the outdoor sports now that everything is on pretty much a level playing field. It's difficult to compete in recruiting with the A-Sun schools that are based out of the south.

May 11, 201511 yr It would be amazing...but I doubt it. Too much $$$. Costs a lot to get one started but once you do it would be the biggest moneymaker the school has. Basketball and football basically pay for all the other athletic teams to stay functioning at most institutions.

A school like NKU definitely would. They aren't getting one any time soon, and they shouldn't.

Agreed, had they stayed D2, then maybe it would have been worth it to look into it. Now no chance, to much D1 football around NKU for it to make any money and be beneficial.
