Well aware of last night ... she is barely back ... and I marginalized myself as it is merely my opinion. My observations are based more upon their not really hitting their stride yet because they have been missing one of, if not their most, important defensive players. They have struggled at times without her when I have seen them play ... and have still remained among the region's elite. We will see, I suppose, but if they suddenly become the defensive juggernaut that they were last year at this time, after a somewhat lackluster season defensively up til now, I won't be surprised .....

Again, who doubts HHS as a top team? You seem to imply that they have been written off. I don't see where anyone has done that. However, no one considers them a lock, I don't think, unless you do??

Are the Birds a lock? Of course not. But I will say having Coffey back does more than just having a great defensive player back on the field but also gives the team a lot more flexibility and takes some of the pressure off the younger ones who had zero varsity experience prior to the season. I'll look tonight, but as solid as this team was defensively last year, this team probably has less errors. With Coffey back that number will hopefully continue to improve. Not that the players in that position committed a ton just they were either out of position or inexperienced. She also adds her bat and speed to help offensively to allow the big boppers, Graybill and Dutcher, to do their thing and drive in runs.

With Spencer turning up the heat recently and Quillen doing what she always does and come on strong when it counts... I like their chances right there with St Henry Conner NCc and Boone... But something tells me a certain team from Park Hills has been laying low and Coach Joe may be licking his chops come district and region time...

I am sure NCC/Ryle/St. Henry and Boone will have someting to say about the so called big 3.

 

I would not count out Dixie either.

Never said or implied lock ... Also never said or implied they were out of it or not a contender ... I do believe, though, that HHS gets a significant late season improvement from her return, and I like their chances given that they were near the top all year long without her. Not a lock ... Not a non-contender without her ... words mean what they mean ... And everyone has their opinions ... We'll see whose opinions are correct soon enough ...
