In a district seeding game, the Breds send 19 batters to the plate in the 1st inning, scoring 15 times. Casey Kohls (HR&1B 4RBI), Kristen Schreiber (2-1B), Loren Zimmerman (1B-2B 3RBI), & Haley Meyers (2-1B 3RBI) collect 2 hits in the frame. Kennedy Bin also had 2 hits, both doubles, and 4RBI.

 

Casey Kohls got things started in the 1st with a "towering" blast that cleared the 200 foot sign with an extra 20 feet to spare. It was her 1st fence clearing blast since she was an 8th grader starting for Dayton.

Have to hand it to the Dayton bunch, they did not get down because of the score. They kept cheering on their teammates at the plate and in the field. Much of the credit goes to Head Coach Beth Fields-Hunt for her positive roll with these young ladies. :ylsuper:

I was impressed with the greendevil attitude.

Down 15-0 at the end of the 1st inning, they cheered and played as if the score was 0-0. Pretty easy to look at the scoreboard and just pack it up at that point. They definitely didn't.

Congrats to NCC on the big W and Kohls on the big day at her former school.... If Dayton had held on to some of the talent that played there when they were young they would be having quite a team right about now. Along with Casey Kohls, Quillen at Highlands and Delaney at Boone I believe all grew up playing in Dayton!

That would have been a nice Nucleus!
