Doing better. Went to Dr and rehab today. Rehab was amazed at amount of movement and use in my hip after just a week. Having some trouble sleeping still, sore and hard to find a comfy sweet spot. May actually try to go back to office this week. Thanks greatly fot prayers and keep em coming, not out of woods yet. God is greatand bless you all.
So the golf game is the same.

Don't try to rush anything! Give your body time to heal.

After rehab yesterday and doing stuff my body just didn't doesn't to do...whew! Still hurting and was tough trying to sleep last night. On a positive note, I'm getting pretty proficient with my walker. Hopefully won't have to have it for too much longer, but have to say the weakness in my left leg is more than I thought it would be. I guess it gets that way when they cut through all your muscles and nerves, which is why rehab is so important.

Well im sitting here with my new hip. Very sore but nor too much pain. Got it yesterday and was out of it most of the day. Glad its over, should be home later today.

I know my grandma had a hip replacement at 90 and she was able to move around better than ever after words. Prayers to you hope you recover fast.

I am scheduled to have my right hip replaced next month and the left hip a month or two later. Glad to hear things are going well with your surgery, it helps ease my worries about having it done when I hear other peoples success stories.

I wish you as much success as mine has been. I'm barely 2 weeks out and my rehab therapists and nurses are amazed at my recovery and what I am able to do already. Am having one issue with a muscle group that's very tight and throwing a monkey wrench into it, but it's slowly getting worked out.

As for my hip, the pre-op pain is all gone, it doesn't exist anymore. The post op pain I have had, for the most part has been more of a deep soreness than real pain, been very tolerable. You will be very glad you had it done I assure you.

Thank you for the encouraging words! What type of surgery did you have? My doctor is going to do the anterior approach which is supposed to be easier to recover from since it does not cut though and muscle.

Had what they call a "mini-post"...it's a posterior approach that evidently is sort of a combo between the anterior and posterior. My Dr. told me that, even though they still cut through muscle doing the "mini", that recovery rates are pretty equal between that and the anterior approach. The biggest benefit of this sort of approach is that I don't have any hip restrictions. With the anterior you have several restrictions for quite a while...no crossing your leg, no bending more than 90 degrees, etc., for quite some time after surgery or you run the chance of dislocating the hip if you don't follow the restrictions. The "mini" post does not carry those restrictions, so I have as full of a range of motion as I can get and can get after it in rehab without that worry.

With all that said, the anterior is supposed to be less painful and of course it's always nice when they don't have to cut through muscle. But like I said earlier, I haven't had a lot of pain with mine anyway.
