Congrats to Marty Steele!

How did you hear this? Was there an announcement somewhere?

The reason I ask is because I have been waiting for an announcement about the soccer coach.

The new head football coach at Boone County High School is Marty Steele, a former player and long-time assistant coach in the program.

Steele, 49, was the team’s offensive line coach the last two seasons. He applied for the head coaching position following the resignation of Jeff Griffith, who had a 1-21 record in two seasons as head coach of the Rebels.

Steele was also an assistant under former Boone County head coach Rick Thompson
for several seasons.

Thompson retired in 2012 season and is now an assistant coach at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati.
