Holmes 7 Campbell Co 6

Final

Drew Mullins pitched a complete game for his first career varsity win I believe.

Holmes led 4-2 until the 4th inning then Campbell got back in it to take a 6-4 lead. Bottom 6 Campbell's pitcher (#24) started getting wild. Lead off man got a hit then second batter hit a hard ball to the short stop which took a bad hop and forced hit to boot it. Next kid came up and hit a ball well to right which allowed the runners to move up. After him #2 got walked to load the bases. #22 (kinnett? ) struck out which set up the drama. With 2 outs and bases loaded, #10 the lead off hitter, Whatley i believe hit a ball deep to center which hit off the CF's glove and allowed all three runs to score. Holmes goes out and Mullins gets a 1-2-3 defensive effort and wins the game.

#24 started for Campbell and came out when the 2 runners got on then #16 i believe came in and walked the bases loaded which set up the hit by Whatley. Both teams played well with little mistakes, but Campbell made the biggest which cost them the game. Nice win for the young Holmes team.

Congrats to the Dogs...nice win. :thumb:

Congrats to the Dogs players and staff.

I'll echo the sentiment....Nice win, Holmes.
