Big district win for the Jumpers. Jordan Molen picked up the win for Somerset. John Perkins, despite striking out 13 or 14 Somerset hitters, gets the loss for the Maroons. 4-3 game gets blown open in the last inning as Pulaski made some errors.

 

Somerset's first 4 or 5 hitters are very well balanced, good hitters.

Great win for the Jumpers. They really showed how good they can be. They had a great pitching performance by Jordy Molen. He pitched 7 quality innings, and had 12 strikeouts. He gave up 3 runs, off of a bad call that really started it. Also there was a blowup by P.C. but Somerset was able to capitalize off of the errors and played there best ball I've seen all year.

Somerset played good baseball, and played well defensively. It should be a veru good district tournament.

That's what errors do. If it helps you understand how badly the last inning went for Pulaski, Somerset struck out four times and still plated 6 runs. Ouch.

It happens, it is called having a biased newspaper in your county. It happens in football a lot too.

Only coaches vote, and not many at that. Pulaski getting a #1 vote was either a mistake by a coach or somebody out there was really, really impressed by them. I'm sure when the next poll comes out, they won't be in the top 25, nor do they deserve to be. I've talked to their coach about them being ranked, and he just laughed and said that some coach must have been crazy or drunk.

 

Catchmeifyoucan, it seems you're a little bitter about Pulaski being ranked??? These polls should not be taken seriously. If you want Leslie County ranked, which they should be because I've seen them play, don't down other teams. Instead, get some of the coaches in the mountains to pay their membership fees to the coaches association and vote. I get tired of mountain teams complaining about the lack of respect that they garner around the state. It's a coach's poll. Those guys need to take some responsibility in getting the teams in their areas recognized around the state.

I was under the impression that he referring to the AP poll, because I saw them ranked there as well, earlier in the season.
