Campbellsville's Chance Of Going Undefeated In RS

Featured Replies

Campbellsville has a senior class of 16+/-, which is large for a Class A school. In years past their main weakness was lack of field experience, but now that is no longer the case. The junior and senior classes are very well prepared to take the field. Here's their schedule:

@ Glascow

Vs. Washington

@ Taylor

Vs. Green

Vs. Larue

@ Danville

Vs. Bethlehem

@ Fort Knox

@ Caverna

Vs. Kentucky Country Day

Glascow and Danville are probably their most toughest opponents on the schedule, but has an even chance to win them. Going undefeated in district play is what they are certainly looking forward to, and after the new district realignment, I believe the best scenario for them is playing vs. Russellville for a regional championship at their place. This team is going to be scary good. The line is probably their kryptonite, but with Kendon Young along with MANY more athletic and tough support players, this team will shock a bunch of people. Be on the lookout for Campbellsville in Bowling Green.

Don't know much about most of the teams they play, but a quick look at maxpreps, I saw they got beat by 2 of those opponents last year. They were Danville, and green co. Id be curious to what those 2 return since both beat Campbellsville by about 40.

In the game against Green, Campbellsville had to play withput their first string QB at the time and without Young. Add the Green County homecoming into the mix and the Eagles were stunned by the Dragons. Danville I believe took some hits to their LB core and some key skill positions. Danville should definitely be a good game to watch and will be a true test for C-Ville.

I also see that glascow beat green county pretty handily last year. Since green county beat Campbellsville, along with Danville, I would find it unlikely they would beat all 3 this year, unless all 3 of those lost a lot of talent this year.

Glascow lost their star player for sure, other than that I'm not quite sure about anything else. You can't always be sure about comparing scores of last year because of so many factors like graduating players, etc. But I do see your points. The loss to GC was definitely considered an upset, and a blowout upset at that.

Sometimes comparing scores is a bad way to do it, but not really nothing else to use especially since I aint got a clue what these teams lost, and returned.

Dudleys Taylor County is biggest roadblock and then Danville

Taylor County will be terrible again. Campbellsville will lose to the only teams on their schedule that end up with a winning record, Danville and Glasgow. They will get to the 3rd round and get blown out by Russellville. They aren't ready for the big time.

I see 3 or even as many as 4 loses for the Eagles. Losing the Senior Quarterback that will hurt them. Health will be a big factor as well. Eagles still want to Iron man it to the point that it beats them up toward the middle of the season. It is a shame that they play to emotional games back to back (Taylor and Green), but if that has changed and the two brothers that are shopping to leave, then Campbellsville could very well be playing for a Regional Title. If they lose to Glasgow, then to Taylor and Green then Danville, then the outlook may change.

The QB that finished the last half of the season on the 3/4 game win streak before Hazard was a freshman. Taylor and Green should not be considered a slight road block. Campbellsville is one of those teams you can't sleep on and expect them to lose easy games like Taylor. These guys are the real deal this year. Glascow and Danville are the only ones to challenge the Eagles.

I'm interested to see how they do against Danville and Glasgow. IMO, they will be better this year and more will be known after those games are played. I think that Campbellsville will be very good in 2016; potentially a strong chance at making it to state.

If they beat Glasgow and do it convincingly for the first game of the season, they will not be considered under the radar by as many.

Exactly. Do not take this team as the Eagles of years past. Estes is changing that program around and it's showing. They flip flopped their record last year. They have some special kids on this roster, with tons of experience and skill. I can guarantee you they are eager to get on the field and show the state what they got.

Campbellsville is a sleeper. I think they are at # 10 spot to start the season. But we will see where there at playoff time because they will more than likely face Russellville in the 3rd round.

Sportsfan08, I agree...... No way they can beat Glasgow or Danville, and Taylor Co is having a solid recruiting year. That doesnt take into acount that Green Co has beat Cville bad for years. I tend to agree with Sportsfan08...... Campbellsville is not in the same sentence as "Big Time"....
