Now that we have determined the best of the best from each letter of the alphabet, it's time for the "Alphabet Tournament".

Now, it's a head-to-head contest against another letter winner in bracket form. The matchups and bracket were picked at random (except for two play-in games).

The same criteria should be used when making your pick.

* All level of play - 9th 10th 11th 12th

* Fan Support

* Coaches

* Wins

* Titles

* Facilities

* Etc.

This bracket is between Ashland and Elizabethtown

The winner of this one advances to meet Highlands.

Here is the rest of the tournament bracket:

Franklin Simpson vs.

Owensboro Catholic

Johnson Central vs.

Trinity

Ashland vs.

Elizabethtown

Ashland/E-town winner vs.

Highlands

Paducah Tilghman vs.

Newport Central Catholic

Russell vs.

Boyle County

Russell/Boyle winner vs.

St. Xavier

Covington Catholic vs.

Danville

Warren Central vs.

Lexington Catholic

WC/LC winner vs.

Male

Valley vs.

Glasgow

Wow, this is a classic old time matchup of schools with great tradition.:thumb:

Was our last face off in football maybe 1967-68?

Woody is right, this is a classic matchup of old timey programs.

E-Town, for their part, was a power in the 40's and 50's. E-Town has outstanding fan support, of course their fans consider them to be the class of all the E-Town area schools. Maybe the nod to E-Town in this one merely because they went to the state title game more recently than Ashland?

We are so far apart geographically. I dont even know what class you're in.

Our last real good run was winning the 3A title in 1990 (13-1, I think it was)

Since then we've been stuck at: Bell, B'Birds, Cov Cath, Mason(Lofton et al), and Rock - all tough. I think our new coach is going to get us back on the road to Louisville though. :thumb:

P.S. I loved the Clooney "ol timey" line :D

Boy, this one didn’t stay open long – I didn’t even get to vote. If you snooze, you loose.

Be alert old wise one.

I'm sure we're gonna need you and all your friends in this next round against those birdies :thumb:

Take care, Woody Jr
