Cooper 57 Conner 44

Featured Replies

Per Yellow Card's update thread.

McNeil with 23 for Cooper

Barnes with 24 for Conner (20 in the first half)

Most fairly officiated game I have been to all year. Barnes was on fire all first half, then Coach Sully applied the glue and he couldn't get an open look. Cooper held Conner to two points in the third quarter and it was too much for Conner to overcome. Glad to have McNeil and Dickerson back, both proved a huge spark and Hathorn added 12 points

I also thought the officials did a pretty nice job, for the most part, I was surprised by how much they really let them play. The only call I really question was the second charge on Hathorn, as he turned baseline it looked like the boy fell away from the direction he was actually going.

Not sure how tall the Watts boy is, I am guessing about 5'10".... He had a one handed dunk off an alley-oop that was one of the best dunks I have seen for someone his size at any level.

That dunk was pretty nice. I agree on that Hathorn call, glad they didn't call a charge on McNeil for that flop by Conner

The first half of this game was fun to watch. Back and forth, nice pace and Barnes couldn't miss. In the second half Conner couldn't hit anything. They got looks but couldn't hit and Barnes didn't get another shot until the 4th. The foul discrepancy was ridiculous in the 2nd half. 12 to 3 for Cooper and one of those was with 7 seconds left. Conner only went to the line once in the entire game. I realize that Cooper is a good team defensively but no way. McNeil on one play plowed through and landed on Barnes with no call. Actually he was awarded the ball, no call. On the inbounds Barnes put a hand on McNeil and was whistled for a foul. Not consistent. Not the reason Conner lost. They just didn't have another player to get warm let alone hot and couldn't keep up. Overall good game.

I have heard about McNeil but I have never seen him play in person until last night. He is a very smooth basketball player and can do a little bit of everything well. He was the second most impressive player in this area I have seen this year behind Bolden for Holmes.
