Shout out to the Senior Birds. Long season - didn't go like you had hoped - life. Key is that , from what I gather, you guys busted your hump all year despite the lack of success.

 

My daughter played softball at NDA so I'm familiar with the challenges of being on a team that isn't as successful as the other sports at the school. Fans aren't as excited. Support isn't there like it should be. Classmates may not be fully supportive. You get frustrated with Ls.

 

Two choices: mail it in or tighten up the jockstrap and go about it every day. Sucks to lose but the lessons you learn, despite not realizing it now, will benefit you in the short and long term.

 

Years from now what you'll remember will be the fun you had in the lockerroom or on the bus. You'll laugh a bit more than you do today.

 

As a former high school athlete I know what you guys had to go through and applaud you.

Completely agree with what Clyde said here. It seemed if things could go wrong this year they certainly did, but everyone made it through okay. Certainly a tough way to go out, but there is only one team that finishes the high school basketball season in Kentucky with a "W". Good luck to the seniors in their next endeavor and for the younger kids, you need to work hard together and continue to bring this program back to where it needs to be.

Bottom line is......NCC needs to get over the hump and win the Region. This should be the Year and I emphasize should.

 

Another thing I will add is HS athletics builds character and discipline regardless of wins/losses. I see it everyday with my own son who played on some Avg teams in HS. His daily habits I attribute to the processes and lessons he learned not only in the classroom at Highlands but also on the court. I thank all of those coaches and former teammates for that as they are experiences you cannot duplicate.
