Oscars 2015

Featured Replies

Watched "Birdman" tonight.

Different.

Yes, different ........as in these movies over here are good movies and I would enjoy seeing them again sometime and over here in a different pile are movies that make no sense at all and hey Birdman is certainly in that pile.

Saw it at Mariemont theater which would have the type of crowd that may like a movie like Birdman. Not one person in the audience said a word when it ended or on the way out of the theater.

Saw Here Comes the Boom at a two screen movie house in a small town in Indiana. It got a huge ovation when it ended. You tell me why one won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Surprised no one has mentioned Sean Penn's comment about the green card. When he first said it, I thought "Whoa!" But to see the embrace he gave the director when he came up on stage just a few seconds later, makes me feel he had absolutely no ill will behind the comment, but was just trying to make a smart-aleck comment.

Classic Sean Penn...

Probably my favorite actor of this generation. But a different breed, for sure.

He definitely is my favorite. But I also admire him for his beliefs. Not all that I agree with, but he walks the walk and he isn't afraid to say what he means.
