Took in the NCC game and how Mercy is ranked 12th is beyond me they are very good. Nothing against teams in the 9th so please don't take this wrong and although I have seen Mercy just once I believe there is no one in our region that would beat them and if they did they would have to play extremely well. Mercy can play fast and they are very fast although they called their press off after the 1st quarter but they can go inside and outside. NCC gets beat on the inside yes i get that but these girls have very good post moves and the one big girls lights it from 3 with know problem, very impressed with them. They also play a very good half court game as well, now maybe they just played really good last night and shot it really good but watching their defense tells me this just wanst a one time thing. I liked their coach he never stopped coaching even when it got out of hand.

...agreed, Mercy has a very good coach!

I have not seen Mercy play but to say no one in the 9th would beat them is a stretch!

I understand you feeling that way but they would have to play very well, on made baskets they were down the floor setting up for 3s or a cutter in the lane with 2 and 3 passes.

Or Mercy would have to play well to beat the top teams in the 9th.. I mean they are still a 7 loss team that's not unbeatable...

I saw the Mercy/NCC score and was intrigued by how good Mercy must be! I am impressed, particularly in light of how well NCC was playing. I do however, agree that it is a stretch to assume that no 9th region team could beat them. For example, NCC lost to HHS by a similar score this season and they are ranked third in the region. Regardless, Mercy is obviously legit !

As far as the Holmes ranking v HC/Highlands, I agree with the point that they have not faltered this season regardless of circumstance (injury, etc) and so I would rank them higher than the other two. HC has played really well down the stretch (including the All A) so they are positioned correctly. Highlands has lost only three (by a total of six points) but losses include Holmes & HC so I think their position (near Mercy) is probably also correct.

For as much discussion about how bad polls tend to be........this one appears to be very solid!

So would you say no one would beat HHS, because they did the same thing to NCC. Not causing an issue at all, just saying they did the same thing to NCC. I too think it's a stretch to say the others couldn't beat them because they beat NCC bad. Different matchups and different styles can have a huge effect on outcomes.

Have you seen their schedule?

NCC played Highlands early at this point in the season I don't think HHS beats NCC by that much and I believe Mercy matches up well with HHS for sure. Mercy has about 4 girls that are legit 3 point shooters and their big girl is very good and runs the floor well. Defensively they are the best I have seen, HHS plays pretty good D but Mercy is relentless.

Yes I have

Our staff was there. I got the report. I know Mercy is good, but saying the 9th couldn't play with them is a stretch.

In 28 games Mercy has given up just a hair over 1400pts.

In 27 games Holmes has given up 1018pts....You want to compare defense's???

Why do you say the bolded. Right before NCC played HHS, NCC had beaten Dixie (bad), Scott and Ryle. Then within the next couple weeks went on to beat Boone and played HC and Holmes. Are you saying they are playing that much better from when they beat 3 solid teams in Dixie, Scott and Ryle right before playing HHS? Seems like they've been pretty consistent since the beginning. What makes you think the outcome would be so much different. I'm not saying it would or wouldn't, but you make it sound like they have improved tremendously and by the scoreboard, it looks like they have been about the same all year.

This isn't about Holmes vs. Mercy because it's unlikely to happen! But I don't blindly throw out assumptions without doing a little bit off research! I'm not big on making myself look or sound silly!

Compare schedules, Holmes hasn't played Butler, ETown, teams of that caliber.
