Which teams have been scheduled to play six or more of these teams during the regular season? Six seems to be a fair number to determine strength of schedule.

NDA played against:

Holmes

Holy Cross

Henderson Co

Highlands

Male

Sacred Heart

Franklin Co

Also played Dyer Co. TN and Mt. Notre Dame both are ranked in the top 5 of their states.

True - but I was replying to the comment "Which teams have been scheduled to play six or more of these teams during the regular season? Six seems to be a fair number to determine strength of schedule." The ones I listed were teams in the Top 20 listing. Plus it is hard to gauge outside teams since likely no one else in the Top 20 has played them.

Ashland has played E-town, Butler, Mercy (twice), East Carter (twice)

Are we saying there aren't any very good teams just outside of this top 20?

I mean Sacred Heart is a 10 loss team in at 17?? While for instance a Paducah Tillman team with 2 losses 1 in state to a Good Graves county(only 3 losses) has a 21pt. win over #9 Murray! And I'm sure there are many other good teams than the top 20 chosen here to distinguish SOS!

Some teams have had a more grueling schedule than others, for sure. It is the coaches responsibility, through scheduling, to test their teams throughout the season in order to get them prepared for the Post Season. I think that we all see a few teams on this list that have not had a strong schedule and have not been "battle tested" as some of the other teams have throughout the year. More than likely, those are the teams that are going to get upset during the Post Season. I think that their are some teams that are outside of this list that have had a very strong schedule but weren't able to pull of so many wins against "ranked" opponents, but have grown and matured considerably because of those "ranked" losses. Those teams will definitely cause a stir in the Post Season.

An ok team scheduling tough games and losing doesn't mean they are necessarily better than their record indicates! You are what the back of your baseball card says you are!

All I'm implying is that some teams outside of this list have grown from playing some very good teams, which will show in the Post Season. That said, I also believe that some of the "top tier" teams will get upset because of the lack of growth due to their lackluster schedules. So on the flip side, a good team with a lackluster schedule does not necessarily indicate that they are really that good, also....

And what I was trying to say was that because a team doesn't have these so called best 20 on their schedule does not mean they have not played good teams just outside this so called top 20!

.....sort of like Gonzaga, for instance; and we see this year after year with them. #3 in the Nation, 1-1 vs. top 25 teams, 3-0 vs. teams in the 26-50 ranking, and 3-0 vs. teams in the 51-100 ranking. The rest of their wins (19) are against teams that are nationally 101 and lower. So, are they really worthy of the #3 tag? Probably not! And we will see them get upset in the Tourney, just like every other year, due to their lackluster schedule!

Who were some of the teams last year that played tough schedules?

Took in the NCC game and how Mercy is ranked 12th is beyond me they are very good. Nothing against teams in the 9th so please don't take this wrong and although I have seen Mercy just once I believe there is no one in our region that would beat them and if they did they would have to play extremely well. Mercy can play fast and they are very fast although they called their press off after the 1st quarter but they can go inside and outside. NCC gets beat on the inside yes i get that but these girls have very good post moves and the one big girls lights it from 3 with know problem, very impressed with them. They also play a very good half court game as well, now maybe they just played really good last night and shot it really good but watching their defense tells me this just wanst a one time thing. I liked their coach he never stopped coaching even when it got out of hand.

Anderson Co.

Sacred Heart
