Sewell pitched 5 2/3 for Estill and Benningfield pitched all seven for Powell.

Does Powell have most of their team back from last year? I know they lost Banjo and Billings, but if they have most of that team back, they will be pretty good, especially by tournament time.

They have four starters back from last year two of whom were freshmen last year Kinser and Brewer,they have been starting 4 sophomores three seniors and two juniors this year.

Great game Cory Benningfield, pitched all 7 innings tonight and gave up 1 earned run. Overall it was a great team effort. Estill threatened on the bags all night but just couldnt get the big hit to bring them home...great game to both teams.

Big win for Powell. Next week's Lee/Powell game will be a big one for 56th district seeding.

Corey Benningfield pitched a gem dandy with only three hits with nine strikeouts. Powell had runners on every inning. Estill had chance to tie game in fifth but runner was thrown out at home by centerfielder Daniel Kinser. Great win for Powell and Coach Varney.

Powell lost 5 starters last year but have reloaded with some young talent and solid coaching. If they hit the ball a little better as the year goes on they certainly won't get beat with bad coaching. They are solid and really enjoy the game. Good coaching,kids that are enjoying the game... should make for a great year down in Powell Co.

Benningfield has really stepped up for the Pirates. I believe this kid is only a Junior, should produce great things the next 2 years.

Don't know where you are coming from or what you are trying to stir but if you will read that post it was a compliment towards Coach Varney. He has done an excellent job so far at Powell from what I have seen. If you are looking for a fight or argument look elsewhere. I won't respond to any more of your posts.:confused:
