Lol. It probably will.

When it all actuality, it should make many proud, knowing that a son, relative or friend has such a passion for their education and the game, that they are willing to pay out of their own pocket to continue in both.

Then again, I've always been one of these who tends to look at the reality side of things in this life.

I've always enjoyed watching NAIA football more than FCS level. Atmosphere seems more high school like.

I have been to a few NAIA games. I think because it is more like HS than FCS.

True, just seems to have much more energy, crowd and players both.

Why. NAIA. Lost of local kids. Fcs from all over.

That makes sense, never really thought about it.

For those who havent seen an NAIA football game, at my very first game I was expecting a high school all star game and what I saw was very fast kids everywhere. When I started looking at the roster what I realized was that if most of these kids were 2 inches taller they would be playing D1 and even then there were several D1 transfers on both sides. It is good football.

I agree. This level is good football. It's just when a team has 150 160 players on roster. This is a money grab. I get it that 60 to 80 kids are very good players. What about the other 60 or so?? Is this just an evil that they have to do to pay for the program? Even some of the D2 schools do the same. Findly a d2 had 60 kids sign. Come on... Half your roster are FR.!! There has to be something else at work with this.

Very good football at this level, especially in our state. The Mid South Conference has kind of always been known at the SEC of the NAIA so-to-speak, but it's just some dang good ball. You said it.

Georgetown. Cumberlands. Campbellsville. Lindsey Wilson is a program that is absolutely taking off. UPike is as talented as any.

So many of these rosters are filled with players (the key cogs now...getting clock) who were literally just an inch or two short or a step or two slow, then often times you get legit D1 and 1-AA transfers (not Morehead ).

Georgetown not long ago had a series going with 1-AA power Wofford to open up their seasons for a few years. Georgetown never knocked them off, but gave them all they wanted in then some. About those same years, Campbellsville University would open with Austin Peay (who was still part of the Pioneer Athletic Conference w/ Morehead. 1-AA Non Scholarship) & that series ended pretty quick. The two played four years in a row I believe, and Campbellsville won 3 out of those 4.

Morehead and Pikeville got in a shoot out this year if memory serves me correct. And, Pikeville is usually just a .500 or so program. I could be wrong, but they haven't and aren't playing Georgetown, Cumberlands, Campbellsville or LWC.....there is a reason for that, too. :lol2:

This is no disrespect meant to the 'Head or any of the schools in the 1-AA Pioneer Conference, but there is zero difference between those schools and many of your NAIA schools. Morehead and others just still have that NCAA title & the "D1 FCS" tag to it. Sounds better, but that's where it stops.

Terrific article linked below on how a large number of liberal arts colleges sign lots of football players because the money they pay in tuition helps keep the doors open. If it weren't for football kids paying, would some of our NAIA schools remain open?

The Pioneer schools are only considered I-AA because the NCAA passed a rule in 1991 that required anyone playing Division I basketball to play Division I or I-AA football. Morehead, Valpo, Jacksonville, Dayton, et al. are I-AA football in name only.
