Coach Hagen is putting together a very good team there. He is getting some of the best from nky. Last year they got Slusher, a great pitcher probably throwing in the 90's by now. Severson, who was probably the best player from nky last year. Frilling from Walton. And this year has Sawyer, and if he could get Moore, and Curley, that would be a very, very good young team. I cant wait!!

He has a host of good players and most are Freshman. The only problem he may run in to is a numbers game where he has too many good players and not enough innings to go around and keep them all happy. They have 37 or so players on the roster and 29 of them I think are Freshman. They beat conference leader Cumberland 8-7 last Saturday but lost 3 in a row to them afterwards. They also beat #9 Union (34-5) 6-2 at Union on Tuesday to salvage a doubleheader split. Georgetown has a 20-19 record so far.

What positions, do you now?

Or anyone?

They both pitch and play the infield

As Firebird said consistently in the 90's and occasionally in the 90's are different. My son said Tilford hit 90 a couple of times in the All A at Applebees and consistently in the 86-88 range there. Their gun is about 3 miles per hour slower than the JUGS guns I have seen. Chaz was phenominal when we saw him that fall. However a bunch of runts from Pike and Johnson County handed him a loss behind the pitching of Adam Blanton and some great defense, 2-1 final I believe.
Actually, I think it was a 1-0 game. Chaz only allowed 2 hits and Adam only gave up 3. Pikeville Bombers scored the only run in the game on a throwing error over the head of the 3rd baseman by the Lafayette catcher trying to nail a runner at 3rd, which allowed a run to score. It was a great defensive game as well as a great pitching game by both teams that day, as I think that was also the only error in the game as well.

Georgetown in the win against Cumberland did beat staff ace Adam Walker, which the weekend prior threw a no-hitter against Campbellsville and was one pitch away from a perfect game. Michael Compton from Lawrence County is having a great freshman year at Georgetown as well this year.

Sorry for the double post.

If Georgetown wants to stay on par next year, they will need a pitcher or two like Curley. Yes, they have numerous talented freshmen, but will be loosing 3 of their top 4 starters to graduation. Considering the limited amount of scholarship money available at GC (3 1/2 scholarships last year), I personally would be very surprised if they can get Curley. It would be nice, but I just don't see it happening. Of course, you also have to look at what happened to Travis Smith last year holding out for the best offer. Widely considered one of the top prospects in the NKY area (Ranked as high as #149 nationally as a junior) he's not even playing baseball now. Regardless, this thread is about signed players so congratulations to Eric.
