It just depends on the person how far they want to take the training. 2015 Severe Weather Spotter Training Schedule Note that class times/locations are subject to change on short notice, so check back every once in a while to confirm the time and location of the talk you're interested in. New this year: Online Skywarn Training NWS Louisville has developed an online version of its Skywarn Spotter Training, tailored to the unique challenges of severe storm spotting in the Ohio Valley. There are 4 video modules, with a quiz covering each module. The quizzes must be completed in order because you'll need the code word that you get for completing one in order to access the next. I guess it started with my oldest son when he was a little boy. He said he was going to be a weather forecaster. He's a big St. Louis Cardinal fan and every morning before he would go to school he would check the weather in St. Louis. He would ask me questions and I would have to find the answer. Of course this was before we had a computer back in the early 90's! :eek: I know no computer in the home shocking. Well I've always have checked the weather but the main event that peaked my interest was the ice storm back in 2009. My wife had outpatient surgery that Monday and it started while we were at the hospital. The lights flickered but I didn't think nothing of it. Well I got my wife home and we weren't home 30 minutes before we lost power. We didn't have power for six days. I promised myself I would never get caught like that again. Also when I was made safety director at work I made it a point to keep and eye out for severe weather.

February 3, 201511 yr I just completed all the online videos. I learned several things I didn't know, but I was also surprised at how much I already knew before hand that was on the quizzes.
