Brooklyn Rivers Verbals To Louisville

Featured Replies

Brooklyn Rivers, who plays soccer for OE (she didn't play high school soccer in the fall - played for Highlands her Freshman and Sophomore years), has verbally committed to Louisville. Congrats to Brooklyn and her family.

I heard this earlier this month, but OE published it so I guess that makes it official (as official a a verbal commitment can get). :D

Is she the first NKY kid to go from club only to D1?

She played HS for 2 years, so does that count? Is she any different than Libby Greenwell, who committed to UC and didn't play for NDA this past year (I heard Libby was hurt, but I also know there is pressure for the top kids not to play HS).

Not familiar with Greenwell. Did she play any high school ball?

Libby was a member of the NDA varsity squad her freshman and sophomore years. She was named NDA's defensive player of the year in 2013 and was the MVP of the State tournament last year when the Pandas brought home the 2013 State Championship. She was unable to play this past season because she was still recovering from an injury but she was on the sideline for every game cheering the girls on. She's an outstanding student athlete and a wonderful young lady. UC is lucky to have her starting in 2016.
