NCC did a exceptional job against Holmes Press

Sorry I had to miss this one, Congrats to the Breds on a hell of an effort. These young ladies leave it all on the floor.

If there is any team that can run the floor with Holmes, it's NewCath. The starting 5 and the next two off the bench are all varsity starting soccer players, so they can run all night long without getting winded.....Throw in the injured MiKayla Seibert and you'd have another.

Very close game for the Lady Dogs concidering HC and HHS blew NCC out. Did the Lady Dogs not shoot well or was NCC making shots.

The lady dogs looked slow tonight, didn't seem like the team they were at the beginning of the season.

Sounds like a really nice effort for the Breds. Congrats to Holmes for winning a close one. This game will benefit both teams down the road!

Holmes was up 13 about halfway through 4th quarter when NewCath started its dramatic comeback. Breds tied the game with maybe 30 seconds left. Holmes held for last shot and hit two FT's with 3.9 left.

Great effort by the Lady Breds!!

It's the middle of the season and there are a lot of emotions getting up for big games. I think every team hits a wall at some point in their season. You just don't want the wall to be in March. But that rarely happens because it's like a new season and there's a new reason to play. Right now, some teams can find themselves just going through the motions. That's not to take anything away from NCC here. They must have played their tails off tonight. I'm just saying this in reference to fans feeling their team looked a little sluggish. It happens! It's a long season.

I agree!

Holmes looked slow because Ware is that fast.....I don't care if that's who you are you press her and your in trouble. New Cath is a bad matchup for Holmes for that reason....Holmes can't turn her over and that kept them in it. Still a good win for Holmes considering they couldn't turn them over in the full court.

I am not usually a fan of blaming refs but this is a game that was not well called for Holmes. I saw too many no calls for Holmes and at least three phantom fouls for NCC; not including a play where NCC player passed the ball and turned and ran over # 22 and the foul was called against 22. I usually don' t pay much attention to how a game is refed however this game was obviously poorly refed in favor of NCC. That being said Holmes must learn to deal with these situations so it was a good learning experience for them. Not to take anything away from NCC they played a very good game hitting FTs and 3 pointers when it counted. Holmes shot poorly again including from the free throw line. They will need to hit the few free throws they get down the road. They were lucky to get a call on the final play of the game with Harris at the line to seal the victory.

Totally agree knew nothing about this kid till tonight. Great ball handler, broke the press bye herself.

Was surprised that Holmes full court pressure did not create more turnovers. Ncc played very scrappy and even when it looked like they were out of the game, (down 54 to 41 with about 3:30 left in the fourth quarter), and they would not pull the trigger, they fought back. Hitting some big time threes to tie at 59 with under a minute to go.

First time I have seen Holmes this year. Very good size and shot the ball well and have a deep bench. Having seen Holy Cross, Holmes, and Highlands I would put the Bulldogs right there with the other two as far as making a strong case to win the 9th region. Ncc seems like they improving as the season has gone along, and hopefully can peak come March.

Like I said the Lady Breds gave great effort! The lady Dawgs not so much ... The officiating was so so... And although Ware is fast she still struggled even turning the ball over on the final possession that could have tied it up . With that being said she was the fastest girl on the court last night.

Holmes looked like one very tired basketball team by the end of this one! Although they scored 61 points they continued to struggle in the half court! I have not seen many teams that can press Miss Ware full court, she just blows by and sets her teammates up for great shots! Great effort by Newcath last night, undersized again but they fight you every possession and they never give up!
