No Ky Coaches Poll - Week # 8

Featured Replies

Scott has lost to Boone, Ryle and New Cath so they are ranked too high ... riding on the upset win over SK I would guess.

Boone has lost two times to Ryle so Ryle has to be ranked higher than Boone.

New Cath has wins over Scott, Boone and Ryle. Put them at #5 behind SK.

Notre Dame has lost to Dixie and regardless of what you think of them, they should not be in the top 10 based on record.

I go this way:

1. Holy Cross

2. Holmes

3. Highlands

4. Simon Kenton

5. Newport Central Catholic

6. Ryle

7. Boone Co

8. Scott

9. Dixie Heights

10. Campbell Co. (12-7 and just beat Notre Dame)

Campbell Co. also beat NCC by 10.

Campbell Co. also beat NCC by 10.

Agreed. This is the thing. I truly think that after the three H's, you can start to throw them in a blender and on a given night, all of them could beat the other. I do think id give the nod (right now) to NCC, Ryle and SK. But CC, Boone, ND could beat any of those teams. The fact is, you can't really make a solid list in NKY because all the teams are so good.

I'm not sure I can agree with you RCC9. I think there is a lot of support, deservedly so, behind the 3 H's. However, with Highlands now losing to the other two, they have to drop below SK at this point. NO.... I'm not an SK die-hard just a supporter of a friend. They are 19 - 1 and also deserve the recognition to move up at this point. They have beat Ryle, Boone and ND (teams in your list above) so I'm not sure how you say " ....could beat any of those teams". SK beat Ryle by 30, Boone very handily and ND was close but early in the year when SK was still trying to discover who they were.

I'm not sure I really follow your logic. I'm not trying to start an argument but I am just saying that's the way polls work not matter how bad you want your team to not move down.

I would have the following

1 HC

2 Holmes

3 SK

4 Highland

5 NCC

6 Ryle

7 Boone

8 Scott

9 Dixie

10 CC

So you're going by record? I think the coaches vote on who they feel is better, which is how it should be. So you're saying losing in double OT and on a basket with under 30 seconds in the game to two teams in the top ten warrants a move down because another team is 19-1?? Is the intention if a poll to rate by best record or by taking a look at teams individually and actually trying to get the best list by what your gut tells you...as an opposing coach. Records are a very small part of rankings. That's why bgp rankings are so much more true than others. They actually use their heads and instinct and knowledge to come up with their list. They put the teams they feel are good, regardless of records, in their list and very few argue it. This is a coaches poll in NKY. Who is better qualified to tell us who is better??? We may know a little more about SK tonight, right? Other than 19-1, please give me your argument why SK should move ahead? If you don't think hhs is just as good as HC and holmes, well why don't you just ask the fans of those two schools. Could care less about a 1 and 2 point loss that could have easily gone either way in either game. Ask their fans if you don't believe me. It's really hilarious to hear people try to put down hhs for those two losses. It really is funny.

So Ryles first game, they weren't trying to find themselves?? I think every Ryle fan on here would tell you how much they have improved since the beginning of the season. You give SK an out but not Ryle.??

The All A is filled with teams with good records. Are they all just as good as SK? And why aren't you moving HC down then?? Three losses and one was to a team that hhs destroyed. Why not moving HC down?

With your logic, SK is clearly better than HC!

I said I wasn't trying to be argumentative but that may be the only way you know how to communicate. Yes... records do matter. Ask ND, I think they have excellent talent but I have a hard time putting them in the top 10 because they just don't seem to be able to get over the hump. Contrary to that comment, I do believe if Elizabethtown was sitting with 6 losses I would vote them no. 1 given the competition they have played.

Yes, I have seen Highlands play and they are very solid. As are HC and Holmes and SK. You are the one placing a team (SK) out of the mix and and have the blinders on. I think SK easily deserves to be ranked above Highlands and fortunately they do play one another. I also believe HC is better than SK and they have a few more losses than them. See how that works? and I don't even use explanation points!!!!!!! oops... just did.

And where was I putting down HHS???? I really enjoy watching you overreact to simple dialogue.

Here we go..... Classic over-reaction. If I'm putting your birds down so bad you must really dislike the rest of NKY teams. I simply place them 4th and its the worst put down of all time. Well if that is a put down you really think all the other teams are that bad? That's what your reaction says.

See how that works? Keep twisting things to your benefit.

This has been fun but I've got better things to do.

What are you talking about. I think Ryle is a very good team. What out was i asking for? Do you sit in front of the mirror and have these fictional conversations with yourself to get yourself this worked up? Wow

Not at all. Challenge all you want. Polls are supposed to identify the best teams. Are you saying SK is better than hhs? Fine if you are. Just want to know what you're basing that on. If it's purley record, well then I'm not buying it.

Just kinda funny you only went after the Birds and not HC? HC deserves number one. But if I use your logic, SK is better! The only people that feel SK should be ahead of hhs are a few SK fans...and the others in this board that don't like me! (You know who you are!)

Let's see how the pioneers fair tonight. Then maybe we can lock them in at number 4.

Nope! You said you beat Ryle by 30 and struggled with ND...because SK was still "finding themselves". Well when you played Ryle as their very first game of the season, do you think they might have been finding themselves too. And Mayb mow have found themselves. You give SK a break on the ND game, but boast about beating Ryle by 30 in their first game of the season. So my point is exactly want I said in my original post...right now, all those teams could beat each other because they are all very good. Forget about past results. Those teams are all good. So btw, how is that putting down the other teams??? I said they are all good. The other three have past the test of being a step above them in any of the matches that have occurred this far. Don't think anyone can argue that. If that doesn't continue, guess what. That team gets lumped back in with the rest. Pretty easy to figure out!

So honestly, do you feel SK is better than hhs right now? If you do, it's perfectly fine. Just let us know why you think so.

 2/19 should be a good one

You're right! Except that SK gets a small break cause it's senior night for the Birds.

Hhs has a tough one tonight! Go to Conner and I believe will be down two starters! Expecting a battle tonight.
