Which games are district games?

Harrison Co (A)= W

Bourbon (H)= L

Mason (H)= L

Scott (H ) = L

3-7

Sounds about right to me, although I wouldn't be absolutely shocked if they were able to do a little better than that.

If you look at the last 15-20 years, Holmes has generally had a slight tendency to post the majority of their wins on the front half of their season (a lot of people attribute that the attrition of upperclassmen from the high school). I have no idea what schools have which players returning to as far as Holmes or any of the schools on their schedule are concerned, but I think Holmes should have a decent shot at beating Paris and Lloyd both in the first four weeks of their season. Here's how I would lay things out.

Win

Holy Cross (H)

Harrison Co (A)

Loss

Walton (H)

Bourbon (H)

Mason (H)

Scott (H - Sr. Night)

Holmes has seniors :

Desean Brumfield

Sean Sullivan

Andrew Arnold

Alex Vancini

Shawndale Mincy

And maybe more returning. All key players.

Arnold is a huge assets at running back!

Brumfield: hell of a ball player, great quarterback, and quick. He can run the ball too. His pass completion last season may not be all that bc of so many dropped passes (that should of been caught).

Sullivan: kid plays with a lot of heart, great defender.

Shawndale Mincy: should be back to 100% after tearing his ACK his sophomore year. Quick WR.

Vancini: great big man, should help O line a bit this year.

Great info, allstar!

No Beechwood on the schedule? That's disappointing. Not been that long since Holmes beat them, seems like a natural rivalry to me.

I can understand the disappointment...but given the shake-up that has to result from the re-districting in all the classes, it seems pretty reasonable that there are going to be some non-district series that just can't be fit into mutual schedules.

I'd expect to see Holmes improved this year. They were very young this past season with just 6 seniors.

People don't realize how much being in a district with Covcath and Highlands affects their numbers. It's a shame but with a legit chance at making an impact and hosting a playoff game, you may see more kids come out this year.

I know there has been rumor of Markel McClendon coming out his senior year which would give them one of the fastest skill players on both sides of the ball in NKY, but as much as I talk to him, I couldn't even tell you if that will happen or not.

Allstar also left out Englemon at WR...assuming he plays and doesn't decide to just focus on hoops.

I think Holmes does better than 3-7 but honestly know nothing about what the other teams return outside of Newport and Scott to an extent.

Holmes should be very good this year IMO
