January 23, 201511 yr The Racers manhandle EIU, at EIU, to win the battle of undefeated teams in OVC league play and win their 14TH in a row, the 3rd longest streak in the nation. EIU had a 9 game winning streak entering the game, it was the 5th longest in the nation. Murray guard, Sophomore Cam Payne, scored a career high 33 points in the win. Payne was the preseason pick for OVC player of the year and is living up to the billing averaging over 18 a night and drawing comparisons to former racer guard and NBA player Cannon.
January 23, 201511 yr It finally hit me who Payne reminds me of. Manu Ginobili. Very unorthodox. He is a hybrid between Rondo and Manu. There is no comparison to Payne vs. Canaan. Payne is a better ball handler, passer, orchestrator of the offense, better defender on and off the ball, and I think an equal when it comes to shooting. Canaan may have been a better spot-up shooter, but Payne is pretty darn good. Physically Canaan was more imposing, but Payne's measurables are better... really long. And Cameron is just a Sophomore.
