If you don't think that Jeter was never one of the top 3 shortstops at any point of his career then you should stick to basketball. And in 2004 Nomar, who was not the Nomar of old, was replaced with a very good shortstop in Orlando Cabrera. Cabrera was coming off of a .297 17 homer, 24 steal, 80 RBI season with Montreal and more importantly, was healthy. Nomar never played in more than 122 games again and only managed 81 in the 2004 season. Just curious, which 3 shortstops would you have taken over Jeter from 2005-2007? I'd love to hear that.
February 4, 201511 yr Author ^Just looking at the numbers, I think one can make an argument for any number of SS's during that time frame. ARod Jimmy Rollins Jose Reyes Hanley Ramirez (2006 & 2007) Miguel Tejada I wouldn't necessarily have taken all of those over Jeter, but I think they were all fairly comparable when you look at everything.
