When we go four wide or trips to one side you can't stay in that coverage or you leave a WR unaccounted for. The only way to cover 4 wide is use a LB leaves you run vulnerable or cover with one or two safety's. Cover zero is what most teams default to when you spread the field like that. If you zone out of that the WR quick screen is there. because you will have numbers on the outside and DB's dropping while a WR stays at the line to receive. So that d works if you cant throw the ball, this year we will. Bring a LB out and you get gashed for 5 a carry. It's really hard to defend the whole field in HS if you can run an effective offense. We'll have to see if we can.

The only time someone goes cover zero is goal line and that is not a given. I have plenty of experience in knowing what teams do defensively to spread teams that can throw the rock, cover zero is not one of them. For some examples, just watch Ryle play defense next time you are watching Hudl, you will see what they do to defend the spread.

Excellent point DD!! Glad someone understands. No sense trying to argue logic and common football knowledge.

I should've just taken your advice!

How is Ryles O-line going to be??

Why do little league people get on here and pretend to know anything about what a team is going to do on offense and what others are going to do to stop it? Most teams are concerned with getting bigger and faster right now, not what they will be doing offensively or defensively during the season. .

How is Ryles O-line going to be??

O line and good receivers would be my questions. If they have a good O line and kids that can get open and catch it, they will be a load IMO! If they don't have one of those things against good/fast teams, it might not matter how good he is.

Morgan will need a line to give him time because he isn't as good scrambling.
