Congrats to Rodjay & Family btw, great kid & a great football player

UofL starting to recruit instate again I see.

Was there a time when Louisville wasn't?

Petrino did so well in his first time around at UofL because he convinced the top local talent to stay home and go to Louisville. Do that enough times and you might be lucky enough to find a Bush or a Brohm.

Congrats to Burns; I'd love to see him in Cardinal Red.

I don't think they have offered anyone in the 2015 class and Bonnafon was their only KY player in the 2014 class if I remember correctly.

Indeed. Though, honestly I was a bit surprised they offered Bonnafon. Nothing against him, but I was never very impressed with him during the 2013 season.

Are they looking at Burns as a DB or WR?

I agree. I couldn't see it, either. Of course, I'm not a coach.

Offered a bunch of guys in 2014. None came.

Don't know why that happened in 2015. If there are good players out there, Petrino will go for them. Like I said above, Bobby's success last time around came hugely on the back of locking up good players from the City of Louisville.

Offered a bunch of guys in 2014. Didn't win on them. Now Petrino at least seems to want to lock down the city knowing that he's losing a lot of battles out in the state.

He's going to have to fight Jeff Brohm for the in-state talent. WKU has been going after a lot of Kentuckians.

U of L does have the advantage of playing on a bigger stage typically. Though, I have heard that Brohm is pretty good at recruiting.

UofL is at a disadvantage on the offensive side of the ball...odd as that may sound with Bobby P calling the shots...it was made abundantly clear Brohm is the superior offensive coach this past season and that players in his system will thrive regardless of the defense.

On the Defensive side of the ball, U of L has become a small pipeline for future NFL players. They have it going on there when it comes to snagging and developing top flight talent.

...also, congrats to the young man. Not a Trinity fan, but I root for KY kids and that's an awesome big-time DI offer!

I think all the quarterback injuries and having to switch so often is what really hurt the Cards offensively this year. I don't think a weak offense is endemic the program right now as you seem to be saying.

No, more saying that Petrino may be overrated as an OC...He flopped with NFL talent at the Falcons...then was average at Arkansas... and then with a NFL RB didn't do much at WKU which then, in turn, took off like an offensive rocket after he left...and then at UofL in his first year with a first round WR for half the season, spends most his time relying on the D.

Hard to argue with his early years, but recently, he's middle of the road, but I'm alluding to the luster wearing off...

We'll have to agree to disagree about his time at Arkansas. After he got his system in place, he had 10-win seasons in and was better than all but three teams in the SEC.
