The JV Breds take the 2nd game of the "twin-bill" tonight up on the "hill". Both teams played great defense and were getting after it at both ends of the floor. Close game throughout, but the Breds started to take a 7 point lead with less than a minute remaining in the 3rd quarter, but CovCath scored 8 straight to take a 31-30 lead with 4:43 remaining. However, NewCath's John "the sharpshooter" Ludwig connects for his 4th triple of the game 8 seconds later to put the Breds up 33-31. The Breds next trip down the floor it was Ludwig again, this time from 25 feet to extend the NewCath lead to 36-31.

 

In the 2nd and late 4th quarters, NewCath's So. Trent Wrobleski was a beast at both ends of the floor, scoring in traffic and getting rebounds. With 30 seconds remaining he made a beautiful steal and bucket and on the final CovCath shoot he had a nice block. This kid has a knack for the ball at both ends.

 

Both teams struggled at the foul line.....I believe NewCath was 13-24 & CovCath was 10-17.

 

Overall, this was a really good game to watch, both teams gave the fans their money's worth. :ylsuper:

Having only played three conference games, I will assume not.

 

It appears that they have Brossart (8-1, 5-1) and Holmes (who defeated Brossart 42-35) remaining on their schedule as key conference games.
