Owen County 49 Gallatin County 47 (8th Region All A Semifinal)

Best team won, but wow those Gallatin boys showed why high school basketball is the purest sport to enjoy. They played with a lot of heart. They deserved to win but fate wasn't on their side. A lot to be proud of. Good luck to Owen as they advance to the finals.

What a great game and atmosphere. 12 days ago Owen had a running clock on the Wildcats midway through the third quarter and tonight survived a three pointer at the buzzer. As the old saying goes, "That's why they play the game".

Zero chance that the game tonight was going to be a blowout, never mind the records or the talent level of the teams. They just know each other so well, Gallatin was never going to relent no matter how slow of a start they got off to (heard that it started like 7-0 Owen?), especially playing at home.

13-5 after the first quarter. In the regular season matchup in Warsaw Gallatin also had a three pointer missed in the final seconds that could have won the game.

Yeah,,,They might get to go at it again in the District......

Might add also,,large attendance..

Great game. Great atmosphere. Coach Jones had a very good game plan, and his kids played their hearts out. I don't think Owen wants to see Gallatin in the district tournament. When these two play it's always a close one. Give credit to Owen in the second half for fighting back from 8 points down late in the 3rd.

Where is the 31st district tournament being played this year?

Decent chance Owen-Gallatin could possibly meet in a district semi-final, as Owen is pretty much locked in as the #1 seed and Gallatin is fighting with the other three district teams for seeds #2-5. Looks like everyone is still in play to be the #2 seed, with Henry currently holding the inside track.

I dont know how wary they would be of playing them again, but I am sure Owen is definitely tired of playing Gallatin in Warsaw.

I can't imagine that any team wants to play anyone 4 times a season regardless of whom or where. I really wish we would go to playing district teams once for seeding purposes and then possibly again in a tournament. These kids have been playing each other repeatedly since they were 3rd graders. Several years ago Owen's girls played Gallatin 5 times. Boring in my opinion.

Who played well for each team?

Williams finished with 23 and 15. Wilson finished with 23 and 8 rebounds.

Tough to avoid 3-4 meetings. First off, Owen-Gallatin-Carroll are all going to play home and away every year. Second, they are all in the All-A and they all have contended so they are likely to meet at some point.
