Belfry 25 Belfry 19

Featured Replies

I would be shocked to see Belfry look any different this season than they have the past 5 or so. Expect hardnosed smashmouth football.

Can anyone give a little more detail? Who looked particularly impressive? Did any of last seasons youngsters shine? Did Ryan Preston not participate? Etc.

I agree!!! :ylsuper:

Ryan and some more of the kids didn't participate because they are playing Belfry Baseball. There was an artical in the paper about it with Haywood saying that spring practice, with some of the starters gone, gives him time to work with some of the younger kids. Not taking away from anyone, some starters dont play baseball and they were there, but thats just how it works.:thumb:

As Brat said, most of our skill guys were playing baseball and did not participate in spring practice.

A lot of the younger guys looked good, as well as those mentioned already. So did Chad Steele and even a newcomer or two.

I agree with you, Junky, it would shock me to see us in anything but our base offense come August. But in this game, with limited personnel and only two weeks practice, Bowe really looked comfortable running the show and he threw several nice passes in addition to running the offense well.
