I go to a few to follow my nephew. I should go to more. Great sport.

WOW! Shame on those varsity football coaches not to recognize what wrestling could do for their program! Speak to any NFL or college football player and see how many of them wrestled in HS. When will football learn what a value this sport has in helping to make boys into men!

As with anything new it takes time to build the trust and relationships with the other coaches. Thus far we have 5 Lacrosse players and that has been eye opening for me to see such a great cross over. Hopefully over time the cross over benefits will be realized by the football players and we will see a great deal of success together on the field and the wrestling mat.

The program has to build a pipeline and have that talent have a foundation prior to HS. So not just the HS coaches trust and support but their feeder programs too. I would help if the, now former, football coach would have encouraged the Fresh and Soph players to wrestle but he choose to discourage and in some cases demand they not do any other sport, much less wrestling, in the off season. CCH has the right coaches in the right places for high school, middle, and youth levels. The program will explode in the next few years, write it down!

Is there a master schedule for all of the schools like they have for basketball and football? somewhere?

Yes and no. Most of the events teams participate in are away. Teams up here rarely host tourneys...Conner holds several events (including one this weekend). The two major events are the NKAC which is typically held on the last Friday of winter break, and Regionals, which is held the second weekend in February (this year at Cooper I think). Dual meets tend to get scheduled on Wednesdays, but often get cancelled as many teams in NKY don't have full lineups, which results in lots of forfeits. There is a forum dedicated to High School and youth wrestling, Kentucky Wrestling where you can visit and find out about events and there is also a tournament management site, Trackwrestling.com LLC which many tourney directors are using to run their tourneys where you can also find upcoming events, and past results. For the most part though, if you want to see local teams wrestle, you're going to have to travel somewhere, often to Louisville.

Well said.

Small squad, not much interest yet from dual sport athletes. Junior program will only help.
