January 5, 201511 yr Has any team that has drafted a QB after Dalton was drafted won any playoff games? Oh crap, the answer is yes, and won super bowl also. Only part of the story though. Related to where he was drafted AD is one of the highest performing QB's. How many of those QB's have taken his team to playoffs all 4 years? You want to discount that part of the equation while putting all the playoff losses on him. I try to look at the whole picture. He's mediocre no doubt. He isn't a big game QB by any means. We could have done much worse at a higher cost.
January 5, 201511 yr Also, those of you complaining have been asked for workable solutions. I have yet to see one posted.

Have the greatest player in franchise history leave for another team, tank for one year and get extremely lucky that the No. 1 overall pick you selected actually turns out to be great. ... I hate the Colts for that... :lol2:

If you look at the draft it's a rare hit for a top tier QB and we've seen the caliber of QBs willing to come to Cinti.
January 5, 201511 yr Not sure what this is, can you explain? If it's playoff loses by those teams, why don't you also show playoff wins? Would be really interested in the teams that have at least 3 playoff losses, how many of those teams have 0 wins in that same time span. Here is a NFL list also Bengals That is the complete list in the entire history of the NFL of all the teams that have lost 4 straight wildcard games. It is what is says it is. It's the number of times teams have made the playoffs over the last 4 years.
January 5, 201511 yr Author It is what is says it is. It's the number of times teams have made the playoffs over the last 4 years. Ok, now can you finish it by showing how many of those teams that have made it at least 3 times with the number of playoff wins for those teams?
January 5, 201511 yr Author Also, those of you complaining have been asked for workable solutions. I have yet to see one posted. AJ McCarron, give him a shot. Draft a QB. I've given solutions every year for the past 3 years. Just because you may not agree with them doesn't mean they wouldn't be better options than Andy Dalton. You will never know until you try it. What I love is when people ask for a solution and then when you give them one they automatically say he isn't the answer without any proof to back up their stance.

What I love is when people ask for a solution and then when you give them one they automatically say he isn't the answer without any proof to back up their stance. McCarron will have his shot next year so we will see how he works out. I would not get rid of AD before he proves himself. He was not an option this year. I do not expect much from McCarron as I have never been impressed with Bama QB's as much of their success results from the strength of the running game. I can't think of a recent one who had success in the NFL. However, McCarron has played well in big games at the college level so there is some hope in that regard. He also had some success throwing down the field. However, there is a reason he was taken in the fifth round in a pretty weak year for QBs.
January 5, 201511 yr Author Here are some more numbers for the Dalton apologists out there. Those who are still using the excuse of he had no wr's to throw to because AJ was out yesterday. They forget that AJ missed 4 regular season games this year, out of those 4 games every team the Bengals played when AJ was out were playoff teams. Out of those 4 playoff teams the Bengals played without AJ the Bengals only lost 1 of those 4. No excuse because AJ was out yesterday. The Bengals would have lost anyway with AJ because Marvin is Marvin and Dalton is Dalton. When Jeremy Hill only gets 4 carries after the 1st qtr there isn't much hope when you put the team on Andy "Choke" Dalton's shoulders.
January 5, 201511 yr And the Bengals were playoff regulars before Dalton showed up in Cincinati, right? and they have WON how many playoff games with Dalton at QB? That's right, as many as Akile Smith, and David Klingler did, ZERO!
January 5, 201511 yr and they have WON how many playoff games with Dalton at QB? That's right, as many as Akile Smith, and David Klingler did, ZERO! All true, but as Hellbird and I have pointed out... This is a deep rooted organizational issue. A losing consistently issue. Ken Andrerson was our QB for 12-14 years or so. He has 2 playoff wins. Boomer was our QB for 8 or 9 years and had 3 playoff wins. Palmer was here 7 or so seasons and had 0 playoff wins. It's just a sad organization... In nearly 50 years they have 5 playoff wins. Just sad.
