Very Impressive Team ball again! Great Job to the Colonels tonight.

Very impressive win by the Colonels. Got there late - second period - and it was already over.

 

Oldham up, 40-19, at the half, and played subs most of the second half. Lead was something like 29 when Zerhusen pretty much pulled the plug on the starters midway through the third.

 

Right now, I've actually seen Grant, South Oldham, North Oldham, Shelby, and Oldham County and the Colonels are clearly tops right now of that bunch. They also own big victories over Trimble and Anderson. But region tournaments are won in March, not December. Oldham will need to shore up the defense some and keep improving each game. Region 8 history is littered with December favorites who failed to learn that fact and ultimately mis-fired in New Castle.

 

But if Oldham keeps playing at this tempo, with waves of quality subs coming off that deep bench, hitting shots (they are shooting very well), and making the kinds of passes they are making now, they will be one very tough out come March.

 

This was a very impressive win over a VERY good Grant team, and one I thought had a chance to win the region. I still think that - but they aren't there yet.

True....and the next matchup between these two may be totally different. But I really don't think it would have mattered in this one.

 

Make NO MISTAKE - this is an awfully good Grant team. My preseason rankings had the Braves #3 in the region - but they ran into a buzzsaw Tuesay.
