Tale of two halves. Madisonville fumbled on the first play of the game. FS scored in 4 plays. 7-0. Teams trade scores, 21-14 FS at the half. FS no turnovers or penalties in 1st half, Madisonville with the fumble and several drive-killing penalties. FS returns 2nd half kickoff to the Madisonville 32, but fumbles on the next play. Maroons take next play 80 yards to the house. 21-21. Teams trade punts, but FS muffs a punt which is recovered by Madisonville on the FS 12. 3 plays later, Maroons 28-21. Another fumble with under 3 minutes to go kills a potential game-tying drive for FS, Maroons score last TD with just over a minute to go. 2nd half- FS 4 turnovers, several penalties, Madisonville no turnovers and only a few penalties. I had said in the prediction thread that if FS played smart football with few mistakes, they should win. They did that for a half, but that's not enough against a good team. Madisonville has plenty of talent, not much of a passing game but should give Owensboro fits, maybe even pull off the upset. Good luck to the Maroons the rest of the way. Thanks to Coach Preston and the Wildcats for a fun season. There is a lot of promise for the near future of FS football.

Despite the obvious disappointment of last night's outcome the future of FS football looks bright. A roster loaded with young, talented, and determined kids and a promising group of eighth graders is encouraging. Coach Preston has done a great job, assistants have bought in and I a am looking forward to August 2015.

Realignment will bring the renewal of an old rivalry, Warren Central, and the start of a new rivalry, South Warren. Should be fun.

Macon who replaces Billups and Cardwell? I've followed the cats some this year. #18 looks to be a great back with positive yards when he carried it, but was used sparingly this year. I didn't see anyone to fill the void for #73.

Not going to speculate on who will fill a Senior's shoes. When there is an opportunity someone will step up. Kids develop quickly at this age so you never know who might be the one or the ones. #18 Saul Brady is a freshman and does show great potential but he is one of several at the WB position. The Wildcats are going to be fine.
