October 26, 201411 yr Beginning my obsession with this thread, these off the top of my head are artists or groups that I've followed over the years from Australia. Picking their Mt. Rushmore isn't easy, but I'll try to go with the obvious with the rest receiving honorable mention. Aussie: 1. AC/DC 2. Bee Gees 3. INXS 4. Midnight Oil Wolfmother The Church Youth Group Xavier Rudd Men At Work Silverchair Crowded House The Vines Stay tuned... more countries to come.
October 26, 201411 yr The Band (Canada) The Guess Who (Canada) Bob Marley & The Wailers (Jamaica) Bee Gees (Australia)
October 26, 201411 yr Irish bands: 1.U2 2.Thin Lizzy 3.The Cranberries 4.The Boomtown Rats Snow Patrol The Frames My Bloody Valentine Damien Rice There's undoubtedly bands in Ireland that are big to them, but these are off the top of my head some that have made more worldwide impact. The Frames perhaps have not, but they're an awesome band nonetheless. Edited October 26, 201411 yr by B-Ball-fan
October 26, 201411 yr Canadian Bands: 1. Rush 2. Neil Young 3. The Guess Who 4. The Band Steppenwolf Barenaked Ladies Cowboy Junkies Loverboy April Wine The Tragically Hip Elephant Stone
October 26, 201411 yr Swedish: The only think jumping out at me is... The Hives Yngwie Malmsteen and now the nice singing sister duo of First Aid Kit
October 26, 201411 yr Norwegian Bands: Only ones on my radar: Kings of Convenience - Nice peaceful folk duo sorta like Simon & Garfunkel with great voices and great songwriting. Flunk - Atmospheric chill electronic group with sultry sweet blonde female lead singer. a-ha - Take On me
October 26, 201411 yr Belgian: The only Belgian act that I can think of is a band named: Arid - Great band with awesome lead singer that sounds like a cross between Freddy Mercury and Jeff Buckley.
October 26, 201411 yr German: 1.Scorpions 2.Accept 3.Rammstein 4.Kraftwerk Helloween Tangerine Dream Kingdom Come KMFDM
October 26, 201411 yr I'd like to add "Tame Impala" to the Australian list. They're a cool Pink Floyd influenced band making lots of buzz.
October 26, 201411 yr French: The only thing French that I can think of is a band called: Dolly - They've never made an impact anywhere but France, and it doesn't seem like many French bands ever do that I know of.
October 26, 201411 yr South African: Die Antwoord - Hip Hop Trevor Rabin of Yes is from there but that doesn't count
