Lexington Catholic takes on Marion County and looks to finish undefeated in the district.

Who wins and why?

Marion Co was run ruled by Boyle Co. I thought Marion's record has was good going in to that game but they laid an egg. Lex Cath in a closer than what expected 28-14. Lex Cath is coming off a bye week so it might be tough to jump start their offense.

Catholic rolls in this one.

Catholic gets the running clock on Senior night for a good group of seniors, no mud bowl this night.

With 50 yard Jaylen Jones will enter the top 10 in Lexington Catholic program carreer rushing yards. He is at 1,220 yards for the season. And 1,451 Carreer.

Defensively, Senior Chase Bolin and junior Andy Hickey lead the Knights in tackles. Senior Braxton Couch and senior Chase Bolin lead the Knights in fumble recoveries with 4 and 3 each this season.

Marion needs a win to be in the running for the playoffs.

District standings and district opponet this week:

1. Lexington Catholic (3-0) vs. Marion County

2. Boyle County (2-1) vs. Mercer

3. Marion County (1-2) vs. LexCath

4. Mercer (1-2) vs. Boyle

5. Taylor County (1-3) vs. non-district

If Mercer and Marion lose then 3 teams will be 1-3 and only 2 advance to playoffs. For Marion and Mercer - its 'win-your-in' time. If you lose - maybe, maybe not. Taylor beat Marion, Mercer beat Taylor, Marion beat Mercer. I am not sure how tie breaker works but I thought a I saw where Mercer must win to get in.

The Knights have played groggy after their week off against Marion in the past. But its senior night for Knights. No mud. Should be a win - big. 48 - 14.

Just imagine if Jalen Jones did not miss out last season? What kind of numbers would he have by now. Scary to think.

Is Jaylen Jones a junior?

Is Jaylen Jones a junior?

Indeed.

Indeed.

I thought so. Thanks.

Oh and uhhh....wow.

I'm glad the polls have LC at #5. Those close to the program know that the losses early were against pretty good teams and we were banged up with injuries on defense. So I rather fly under the radar.

I'm glad to say that following the bye we are going to have every starter back this week. Time to finish strong Knights

Just some recruiting updates for some Knights players.

Wake Forest came by practice the Monday of the Taylor County week to talk to senior QB Reese Ryan, SR OL Cameron Bailey, and Junior RB Jaylen Jones.

Seniors Bailey, LB Chase Boling, and DB Braxton Couch were all visitors for Murray States homecoming game.

And Jones was a visitor for Ohio University's game this past weekend after previously visiting UK as a recruit.

I know none of this means offers but still good to know these kids are on team's radars. Hope they all get the opportunity to further their career if they choose so, no matter what level.
