Mustang Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Mustangs make a game of it early tying the game at 7s late in the first quarter, and then falling behind 21-7, and again scoring to make it 21-14 just before the half. Lloyd managed to punch one in just before the half, making it 28-14 at the half and then went on to win 49-28. Mustangs welcomed back Clay Kramer at quarterback and several other key players whch allowed us to remain competitive for at least a half. Bogus fumble/recovery touchdown at the 5:03 mark in the third quarter, added insult to injury. Not that it would have made a difference in the outcome but the with our guys on the Lloyd 19 yard line and driving, allowing the so-called recovery and touchdown, made for a 14 point turnaround on that sequence. Apologies don't take points off the board nor put them on. Too bad they didn't get it right the first time. We work waay too hard to have that happen to us. Lloyds abilty to make big plays were a huge difference in this one. 1 - 10:01 - L - 36 yard pass play Molitor to Durham - PAT Good 7-0 1 - 2:36 - B - 6 yard run Cetrulo/PAT Cetrulo 7-7 1 - - L - 62 yard breakaway run for TD Durham - PAT Good 14-7 2 - 8:13 - L - 36 yard pass play Molitor to Gaines TD - PAT Good 21-7 2 - 5:48 - B - 42 yard pass play Kramer to Donnelly TD - PAT Good 21-14 2 - :53 - L - 41 yard "hook and ladder play" Motlitor to Guitierez to Durham TD - PAT Good 28-14 3 - 9:53 - L - 57 yard Durham run TD - PAT Good - 35-14 3 - 6:44 - L - 36 yard pass play Molitor to Riddle TD - PAT Good 42-14 3 - 5:03 - L - Runion recovers a BB Fumble at 19 goes 81 yards for a TD - PAT Good 49-14 3 - :26 - B - 2 yard run by Schoulthies TD - PAT Good 49-21 4 - 1:25 - B - Kramer to Donnelly for 35 yard TD - PAT Good 49-28 FINAL Panda was at the game snapping away. lawildcat Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Those darn officials! Glad to see the Mustangs are still hanging in there and that young Mr. Kramer is again healthy.
Mustang Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 Those darn officials! Accountability??? To blatantly blow a call, or in this case fail to make a call, and apologize for it later is cool, but it doesn't alter the situation. I did state clearly that it did not effect the outcome. I'm also a Brossart homer, so if the call (no-call) had gone the other way, I would have accepted it as a good break for our team. Poor timing in this case.
Voice of Reason Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Everyone has to be impressed with what the new coach and the kids at Brossart are doing this year. Considering where they were in June, this looks like a season to build on. Moving into 1A next season will help. Things look headed in the right direction in Alexandria.
TAC Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Looks likw the Mustangs were victimized by big plays again. Congrats to Lloyd.
