Raceland @ Fairview / 10/19 thoughts-predictions

I might as well get this one started now. Raceland vs. Fairview ....for anyone in our NEKY / EKY area nothing else need be said. This one is a long and bitter rivalry, usually draws fans from all around the area.

Raceland is 6-1 / 1-0 with the only loss a 6 point thriller at (4A) Ashland. The Rams come in with a strong defense, especially vs. the pass along with a "scoring machine" of an offense. Fairview is Very Good as well, boasting a powerful, all out passing game. The Eagles are 4-3 / 0-1 on the season.

When these two get together, it's not at all like the 70's thru 80's Rams dominance. Fairview has a good football team. The Eagles, stinging from as loss @ Paintsville will No Doubt be ready to play plus they are at Home.

Throw the Records in the dumpster. Who Wins this Key District Matchup ?

I feel good about Raceland's chances. I look for the Paintsville game to decide our District Champion. If we can't beat Fairview, we don't deserve to win the District or play for a Region Championship.

I agree. I believe that Fairview is pretty down this year compared to years in the past. After Paintsville beat Fairview last night, that told me that the team to beat in our district is Paintsville. However, you cannot take Fairview lightly because they will beat you if you come out soft.

I just wanted personally give Head Coach M. Salmons and his staff a huge :thumb::thumb: for the job that has been done all season.

This Raceland team lost the Head Coach, practically their entire O and D lines, a three yr. starter at QB, good receiver, running back and the 2014 Rams haven't missed a beat. Raceland has Born & Bred Real Ram in Salmons at the helm along with some asst's that are Ram alumni and All coaches are class acts, we wouldn't have Any other head coach & staff if we could.

I haven't made a prediction on this one yet, the school in Westwood isn't a bad team at all, playing in Mossy Bottom (where weird, strange things happen at night). Also, after they were doing all the "crowing", blaming everyone but themselves for their problems that they created - the Rams handed theirs back to them by around 3 td's, they will be ready to play.

This one is set up for a West Ashland win.
