As a freshman in 2013, at Holmes, Barnes played in 11 games, rushing 29 times for 113 yards. He caught a couple passes and had one interception on defense. The KHSAA website has him scoring one touchdown in some other way than rushing or receiving. His last game at Holmes was November 8, 2013. That would make sense with the last portion of my previous post about the expected time that he could become eligible for Holy Cross unless some sort of other exemption is in place. I cannot comment on any personal or family details about Derrick's situation because I would think it would be inappropriate (since he is a high school student) and I do not want to violate any of the BGP Rules.

I will go out on a limb and predict Holy Cross will not make it to round 3 of playoffs, considering they have only 2 wins in the last two years, both v.s. the same opponent.

This game looks like it went about how I expected. Holy Cross played tough, stayed in the game, then Conner pulled away as the game got into the fourth quarter.

 

On the question about Conner getting into the N. Ky. top 10 because of this win, I don't think this win does anything to help them with that. The win was expected and the way Conner won it was not overly impressive from what I see in the play by play.

It was pretty much a mud bath in the center of the Conner grass field. Passing was non-existent except for the quick slant by Conner than went for 94 yards.
