Lexington Catholic travels down to Taylor County for third district game in row for both teams. The Knights seem to be hitting a stride with solid victory this past weekend against previously undefeated Boyle County. Taylor County is 1 and 1 in district so far with a loss to Boyle County (38-6) and win this past weekend against Marion County (30 - 8).

Taylor County's senior running back Brandon Williams leads the Cardinals in rushing with 302 yards going into this past weekends game. Senior Hunter Christie is the QB for the Cardinals and the leading receivers are junior Anthony Hilliard and senior Caleb Lee. Leading tacklers are senior Zack Richerson and junior Jack Miller. The Cardinals favor the rushing game with over twice as many yards on the ground than through the air.

The Knights offense is well balanced with the strong running lead by junior Jaylen Jones who gets strong blocking by his offensive line of big seniors Cameron Baily and Dominic Castlin, juniors Colin Carpenter and Noah Tubridy, and sophomore Woody Lankford. Jones is now over 1,100 yards for the season. After an rough start to the season Reese Ryan is interception-free in the last 3 games and has a QB efficiency rating of over 106 (College rating of 155) with juniors JJ Ogbogu and Andy Thompson being his favorite targets. The Knights defense is healthy again. Senior LB Chase Boling lead the Knights defense against the Rebels this past weekend with a strong performance by senior Cody Mitchell as well. These two seniors missed a couple of games but seem to be ready for the end of season run.

Can Taylor County find a way to pull the upset at home?

Who wins and why?

It would be tough for Taylor County to come up with a win on this one. All of the injured starters and top subs for Lex Cath at the beginning of the season are back in full swing. A balance run and pass offense and now a healthy defense... Going to be tough

Catholic will win by a lot. Taylor County seems to be improved and will probably make the playoffs for the first time since the formation of this district but it will probably be a running clock game.
