I was very impressed with Justus at the Regional tournament last year.

Dossett is best player. Think about how good she would be if she played basketball all the time and did not play softball! WOW.

I may have Ison at the #2 but I am a little biased on that so #3 is fine.

I may flip Justus and Macey at the 4 and 5 but Macey had some really nice games over the summer.

Another really nice player in the region that is not mentioned is Abby VanZant, a guard from South Oldham. I was very impressed with her last year. Anyone else on here familiar with her? If I have the name/player correct, I think she would belong on the top ten player list.

Decent player on a team that is way down......probably not in top 10 though.

So did anyone get a copy of 9th Region?

If anyone gets the 6th and 7th, please post. thanks.

She is developing into a nice player. My daughter had some workouts with her over the summer. Also, no one should rule out Oldham and South Oldham in the 8th. I'm sure by the time we hit the district tourneys, one or both will have things figured out.

Agreed! There are three seniors on South Oldham that can play with any of these top ten players. VanZant, Jones, & Wilson. The Cats Pause rankings are not anything I would hang my hat on, and this season, South will make some noise under their new leadership. The players listed are all nice players but are not the 10 best IMO. Team rankings are also way low for South Oldham. Owen County is not # ten- that should tell you something with these rankings. Again, time will tell. Shelby is loaded and Trimble is continuing to impress with the addition of a true point guard.

VanZant and Jones are both getting interest at the next level - and faired well at the recent Bolus showcase. Wilson will run cross country in college but could play bball.

I guess im old fashioned as far as rankings and ratings. First of all I don't disagree with pre-season rankings that are posted, however there are several teams ranked up on the higher end with only one and two players max listed in the top players of region. If you take the top two best players off each team then who would we be looking at? To me depth and returning experience go a long way in judging a team pre-season.

Sure depth and experience go a long way, but many times, two or even one player can make a world of difference. Taking the top two players of a team will dramatically effect almost every High School team, even in cases where they have above average depth.

I can guarantee every coach in the 8th region tournament last year would have loved to have gotten Anderson County without there two best players McKee and Cann. Anderson was a deep team last year, but if you take McKee and Cann of the roster, Anderson does not win the 8th Region, in spite of their depth and experience. I think most would agree.

I think that's the point I was trying to make that if Anderson Co was without McKee and Cann last year and all other teams in the region were without their two best players that Anderson Co would have still won with their depth and experience. My main point is that there are a lot of players on most of these teams that bring so much to the table that it goes unnoticed or appreciated

I understand what you are saying. You certainly cannot underestimate the strength of a deep bench.

I don't think I caught exactly what you were saying at first. It just seemed obvious that no team would be the same without their best two players. I agree that just as well, no team would be the same without any quality depth they might have.
