Just an outsider observation, and from watching just one game. The fans and parents seem a bit obsessive. Almost every other thread here is about HHS. Maybe they should realize it is just a game. It is there for the purpose of fun and comoderie of the girls. Bad games happen. Bad seasons happen. Bad teams ard made, and usually by infighting and bickering. My own daughter wants to thave her highly successful club team for these same reasons.

 

An outsider would be missing out on a lot that is happening, getting old people who do not know what is going on saying parents are out of control, it is all about playing time, ect. What from watching one game would make you say they are obsessive?

I've noticed a lot of blame for the poor season being hurled at the new coaches, on the many HHS threads. If memory serves, the past few years have been as bad or worse record wise. Not since the 2010 season, have they been one of the top area teams. So, why blame the new guy(s)?

 

There were not many too happy with previous coach either, and hope was an outside the system coach was brought in to jump start the program. The search consisted of two people in the school system.

An excessive amount of negative comments, about officials, players and other teams. Behavioral patterns of parents, does one really need binoculars to watch a high school game? Focus of parents on individual players and not on team play. Again why are half the posts here about Highlands?

It always comes down to blaming the coach. But I wonder how many parents have taken the time to become a US Soccer licensed coach or referee. How many parents instead of laying blame and complaining have come forth and said, "what can I do to help? Team failure is more than losing games, it is about losing focus.

All schools have there share of clowns, saw a couple at Ryle parents last night, does not make all the Ryle parents bad. why all the posts about Highlands?; Highlands parents demand excellence in the classroom and it spills over to athletics, I do not see anything wrong with that.

Seriously though, there are a lot of posts from HHS people because there are a lot of HHS people on BGP. Call your friends and get them to join the fun so we can talk about your school too!

What the heck is going on with the HHS Girls Soccer Program? I see other HS teams refer to it as a train wreck. What exactly does that mean? Three players quitting, one being a 4 year varsity player. Things must be BAD… It is a shame as last years varsity came on strong at the right time and ended up with a decent season. Is there a problem with leadership on the team? Does anybody know what is really going on?

From what I can tell, there are several HHS fans who do not like the new coaching staff for varying reasons from: 1. Style of play 2. A possibly biased coach selection process 3. The fact that the coaches have kids on the team 4. Allowing younger players to play freshman ball and 5. Some undisclosed personal situations with the coaching staff.

 

IMO it is fine and normal to have an opinion on all of the above, but not to the point that the girls or the team is poisoned by the voicing of those opinions.
