June Buchanan v. Hazard Predictions

Featured Replies

I would have to go with hazard because they beat JBS in pippa passes and they are playing well right now i have to say Hazard by 10

Hazard did look pretty tough on Monday night. They were shooting lights out and really made Wolfe work for the few rebounds they did get.

So you do not like us!!!! You can sit a in Irvine with your 2500 fans, all the pep buses, and your great 15-15 record and dream about winning the 14th region.

Hazard or JBS might not win the region but Estill will never consistnely beat either them two, or Perry, Leslie, knott or Letcher or any other 14th region team I have forgot.

This game could go either way. For JBS you have Stepp and Cox. WIth Hazard you have Hicks. This will be a close game and Hazard has more expirence in these games.

I don't know why FrontRowFan says he doesn't like JBS, but for you to say that Estill County...a school with 700 students, 4th largest in the region, will never consistently beat June Buchanan, Leslie, Knott (I'll skip Perry because you have a point there) is ludricous. I've seen some pretty good teams in Irvine in the past 25 years, quite a few much better than this year's team. And one of their great one's, Brian Kiser, had a great career at Louisville. So, they're not to be taken lightly by no means....and that goes for baseball too.

I feel their game planning lost the game to JBS as much as anything. They didn't use Dixon effectively. He needed to post up on the blocks much, much more. Even the 6'3 Reese should post up some. Too much reliance on the 3 pointer. They did the same thing in the district championship against Lee County......pass around the perimeter all night and finally shoot a 3....simply not enough inside, and way too much outside...JMHO.

In My Opinion,

I was trying to answer one of your post and it suddenly disappeared:confused: . But my answer was.....I don't know exactly why he doesn't like those teams. Maybe he will give some reasons later.

I know our school gets along well with Estill, and pretty much every team in the region. Even with our rival, Lee County, there have been very few incidents over the years.

I'm gonna have to pick hazard by 10+, i think they have more experience in big game situatuations, imo

Hazard cant hold JBS around tourney time.....JBS by 10 if stepp and cox have 20+, JBS in a close one if stepp has 40:dancingpa

I dont agree with the outcome but the compared numbers i dont think anyone can argue with. Tate's points come from other teammates and good decisions, thats how he gets 20 a night while Stepp shoots when he want to get his 35+ and the missed shots and not rebounding by June B. makes a 10 point difference in every game it occurs.

Agreed Professor, the team of (i think) 2002 in Irvin was better than this team. I dont know the name but the point guard went to and is a big player for Centre College last year(I havent kept up with him recently). Some great players have went through and havent been recognized because some large schools have overshadowed them with five solid players and won that region instead of just one go-to guy and decent team.

I also agree that Estill didnt go inside and match Lee's inside game even though they had the potential to do so in Dixon and other taller players. Big miss three pointers in the end ,lost the game for Estill instead of attacking the middle and going right at Rich. Dixon slowed Rich down by playing defense and roughing him up (Rich was extremely tired by game end)but never used his speed to attack and draw the foul on the offensive end. A foul troubled Rich could of meant a 8 point difference in that game if not more.
