Young was cleared Thursday. Would you of played him? Did you see the hit he took?

No and Yes. The QB coach explained to me Young did practice last week.

Not sure which way the QB decision may go but hate to see Young lose the job over an injury. Of the numbers I have (don't have Ensworth game), Harper's and Young's stats are very similar. Seems to me Young takes less sacks and throws for a better average per completion but Harper has a better completion percentage. Both stats very close. Young may also have a little bit stronger arm. Both are really game managers and doing a good job of that. If Young is ready he should get his spot back.

Young was cleared the Thursday prior to the Imhotep game according to "unnamed sources".:popcorn:

Don't believe Harper lost his spot due to injury -- different issue. Also looking up the rules on concussions. Does KHSAA have a rule that specifies how long a player sits out if they have a concussion? Is there is a difference in cleared to practice (drills and conditioning) and cleared for contact?

Got this from Ryan's Dad.

He was cleared for light workout the day after Imhotep game. Did not dress for Imhotep game.

Cleared for practice the Monday after Imhotep game with "no contact".

Cleared for full contact after practice on Wednesday before Colerain game.

That's the best source of all. It trumps coaches, friends, trainers, players, administrators, etc. :popcorn:

That seems to follow the KHSAA guidelines dealing with concussions.

Sec. 5) RETURN TO PLAY POLICY FOR A STUDENT-ATHLETE

RECEIVING A CONCUSSION, AFTER THE MANDATORY REMOVAL

THAT DAY

a) Once a concussion has been diagnosed (or presumed by lack

of examination by an appropriate health care provider), only an

MD or DO can authorize return to play on a subsequent day,

and such shall be in writing to the administration of the school.

b) Such approval should not be given unless a stepwise protocol

has been observed by all practitioners with separate periods for

(1) No activity;

(2) Light aerobic exercise;

(3) Sport-specifi c exercise;

(4) Non-contact training drills;

(5) Full-contact/competition practice; and

(6) Return to normal game play.

c) It is highly recommended that each of these protocol steps be

no less than twenty-four hours in length

Any live video/radio of this game? THANKS!
