Like I said...I didn't realize that a lot of these kids were freshman at the time...they competed well, especially for not playing together. It just seemed like some of the NCC fans acted as if they expected a different outcome from the begining.....which is why I expected a better showing.

Gotcha :thumb: I think we all hope for a different outcome, but most of us are realistic. I think if we had our original starters it would have been a different outcome. With those starters we beat Cooper JV. After a few of the starters were moved to Varsity, we still gave Campbell County a run for their money, but with losing 6 of those starters and using Freshmen players in their spot, there has been a decrease in talent and physical size of the players.

Beechwood did a great job, not saying that at all. 20 of NCC's players are Freshmen. The 2 big lineman are both sophomores. Of those on JV, only a few even get any playing time on varsity, usually kick-off our punt/return it extra point attempts (which have been few and far between so far this year).

Since the varsity is still "finding themselves", they only bring down about 10 players to play JV. By bringing the freshmen up, it allows them to get some more experience, Especially since they play a limited number of true freshmen games.

The KSHAA must not have the complete roster. They have about 64 on the varsity roster, which includes the 20 Freshmen.

Raiderbird they are not smaller look at the khsaa two year ave NCC 382 Beechwood 372, one year report NCC 372 Beechwood 401.

 

Boys are what count newcath has over 200, thus being in 2A, beechwood has less than 200

Like the Varsity, they are loaded with talent and speed. Rash should be thanking the good Lord. Everett is very solid (I think 1st year as QB) and Sowards and Justice are an excellent 1-2 punch with Benson being a very versatile player

I don't see speed and skill players as the problem for Beechwood. I see size and depth at the line of scrimmage as the challenge.
