Raceland 25 Greenup County 0

Rams get the shutout, played great on Defense. Quite frankly, from a couple of calls I got and how it sounded te Rams were pretty lethargic on Offense all night.

Rams turned the ball over 4 times I believe, maybe more. Some of that has o be credited to the GC defense i'm sure but as I said - reports I got were tat Raceland was just "going through the motions" tonight. This certainly can't become a habit. Do that next Friday and Dawson-Bryant will embarrass us.

RAMS - You got by this one without playing your best. Congrats on the W :ylsuper:, get back to work on prep for Coal Grove this week.

I wanted to comment on how inspired / fired up that GC kids played with. GC played hard, did not quit. The GC Defense held Raceland to their lowest point total of the season.

Good luck to the Musketeers on the rest of the season.

BTW - Was reported early in game that GC had an injury to one of their linemen. I know that I can speak for all RAM Fans in hoping for a complete recovery. Hopefully it wasn't very serious.

Coach Lewis and Coach Fannin should get a lot of credit for having our defense ready. I think we held GC to about 4 first downs. Great job for the Rams defense.

Our offense shot themselves in the foot several times. Should've had at least 3 more scores. We will get it fixed. Our players and coaches are too good not to fix it.

This was another weird one to me. The defense played good, but the offense, that's another story. I know the Rams are good, I'm just not sure how good, especially with the schedule we've played up until now.

Greenup was beat by the Rams line on both sides of the ball. Was the worst line play by them i have seen this year. Congrats to the Rams till next year lol.

I don't know what happened to the team at Greenup I knew. I know that was a LONG time ago but still. Before GCHS there was McKell and Wurtland. Wurtland struggled against Raceland but McKell didn't. They generally won in fact. And Wurtland had turned their program around. I played in several JV games at Wurtland against Raceland we won every one of them. Raceland kept their tradition going. So did Russell (and I really don't like that - I actually like Raceland) but there's no excuse for GC being so bad all the time. I guess no one gives a rat's rear about it or something. Sad.

There are a couple reasons I can think of for the drop off. The year after I graduated in 04' Alot of wurtland kids started going to raceland. Some may have went to Russell and other area schools but Raceland probably gets the majority of them. Greenuphas not really done anything to help itself out either... Raceland, Ashland, Russell they all have a great support system (boosters, parents, administration etc). You combine the loss a few athletes here and there with poor coaching and this is what you get. It's hard to put blame on the coaching giving what I just said about the lack of support in the community but it is a contributing factor. I don't know much about the current staff or even who is on Mullins staff but I can say the team is at least playing with a chip on its shoulder now. Dudley Hilton could have walked in the administration office and begged to take over at Greenup and they wouldn't give him the time of day bc Greenup don't want to pay anybody.

I know that GC only had one first down in the 1st half, wasn't sure on how many total.

As for the bolded -- I agree. When a team makes this many mistakes and wins by 4 td;s ...you have something.

CONGRATS Raceland players and coaches on he WIN back on track and keep it going. JD

Congrats to the Rams

A battle between two teams I like a lot.

Congrats to the Rams for finding a way to win another game.
