LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – One of the early surprises on the high school gridiron this year is Shawnee.

The Golden Eagles are 3-0 for the first time in 24 years.

The team has already matched their win total from last season. For these athletes, playing at Shawnee is about much more than football.

Good Luck to the Eagles. Pulling for this team to be successful on and off the field.

They've certainly been through a lot to go from near shutdown of the program to 3-0. I'm intrigued to see what they do against Knox and the rest of their district. It certainly looks like Warriors will be slugging it out with Thomas Nelson for that fourth playoff slot in 2AD4

I know a lot of good people that have grown up from that area. I know there is a lot of pride in that community. It would be awesome to see Shawnee turn it around.

Who is their coach and the school principal (if you know)?
