Sweet 16 Trivia

I understand the skepticism, but I am fairly certain it was a team that would surprise most people. It might not be Corbin, but it definitely is a team from Eastern Kentucky. If not Corbin, perhaps Hazard?

Hazard in 1957.

I'm not sure that Corbin is even integrated in 2014.

I think the rebound question has an obvious answer, but I will refrain from answering that one. Not sure about the assists question.

I'd be surprised if the answer to the rebound question was not Wes Unseld, perhaps the best rebounder in the history of the world. Don't know about the assists question.

Without looking it up, who is the career assists leader for Sweet 16 games?

My first thought is Todd Tackett, but I'm also tempted to guess Richie Farmer.

I honestly don't know the answer but will try to find it out once I get off work this afternoon. The only one I knew was the Hazard answer.

One of my guesses would be the Pennick (sp?) guard that went to PRP.

I don't really think either one of them would have it

Todd Tackett had between 52 and 55. I couldn't find his total against Harrison Co in the 1997 quarterfinals, but the team leader had 4, so he had between 0 and 3. His other 11 games totaled 52 assists.

In the 1996 tournament he had 23 assists. I'm pretty sure no player since that time has surpassed that number (Ruthsatz tied it this past year).

Wow. Great stuff. Thanks for looking that up.

I figured the debate would go like this, a few people mentioning names they thought it'd be and others correcting it if there was anyone who'd topped them.
