September 11, 201412 yr Agreed, it will cost Jerry more to defend this in lawyer fees than to just pay it. Jerry probably has that much in his couch cushions. No way it costs him a million to defend an allegation against a stripper. Maybe it costs that if he actually did it and was dead to rights, Ray Rice video out there or something, but just on the face of it, I seriously doubt someone is billing $1 million.
September 11, 201412 yr I wonder if due to them being strippers and being hired by patrons of the strip club if some on the jury will just feel that such lewdness is the norm in a strip club environment and not sexual harassment? I think lawildcat and on are thinking the same. Let's say the jury does decide in her favor or Jerry settles which sort of admits guilt, what will the NFL do to Jerry? Is sexual harassment as serious as the racism shown by Sterling of the Clippers and the NFL may look to force the sale of the Cowboys? My guess is that it will not go that far but who knows. I think Jerry Jones is also sending Goodell and the League offices a thank you note for yesterdays news.

October 16, 201411 yr Sexual assault lawsuit filed against Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is dismissed - NY Daily News Cowboys owner Jerry Jones won his off-the-field legal battle with a former stripper Thursday, after a Dallas County District Court judge granted Jones' motion to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit she filed last month. Jana Weckerly of Oklahoma filed the suit last month in which she claimed that Jones groped her and forced her to watch Jones receive oral sex from another woman during an alleged incident in 2009 at a Dallas hotel. Photographs of Jones with two women in provocative poses surfaced on the Internet late in the summer prior to the suit being filed. In the judgment signed Thursday, it is ordered that Weckerly "take nothing against Defendants Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club, Levi McCathern (Jones' attorney),” and McCathern's law firm. The suit was dismissed with prejudice, meaning Weckerly can't file the claim again. She was seeking $1 million in damages. "It is further ordered, adjudged and decreed that all claims and causes of action that have been or could have been asserted by Plaintiff in the above-styled cause are barred by the applicable statutes of limitations," reads the judgment. The judgment also bars either party and their lawyers from commenting to the media. But that didn't prevent Jones' attorney from making one final statement. "We are pleased with the Court's Judgment against Ms. Weckerly. Ms. Weckerly's allegations were false. This case is over," said McCathern in an email. Weckerly's attorney, Thomas Bowers, did not return an email seeking comment.
