I'll agree with Greenup LR but you also have to remember teams like Nicholas Co,Paintsville and yes the Tigers are bad.Then you through in the first two rounds of the playoffs and then all of a sudden you have to many teams like BC and Greenup.I don't care how big of a school they are bad football is just bad football.I think the kids at Raceland are ready to take that next step and you do that by playing better football teams.Look at your state championship teams.Mayfields,Beachwoods and so many others.Not to many cupcakes on their schedule.There are way to many on Racelands.To be the best you have to beat the best and it they are not on your schedule then you are just trying to make your record look good.Im a big ram fan and we are always talking about taking that next step...... So let's take it.

I agree with your statement. I just don't see Greenup coming off. Who knows, I may be surprised. But JC would be a huge step up.

Greenup and Russell are money. You kind of have to play them for the money. Ashland is a great game, plus it's a money game as well. Add those three to the now two district games and you have half your schedule. The other five are open for debate and should include games versus teams that will prepare you for the playoffs.

I agree Ram...and with LR as well about the scheduling. I will say that I am not sure how long that the Coal Grove, OH. and Ironton are for but a suggestion above mentioned other OH. teams like Ports., Wheelersburg, Ports West, etc. I don't believe that Raceland needs to be playing more than 2 Oh. teams per season, actually imo only one - I believe that Coal Grove is no doubt a fine program and the close proximity between Raceland and CG(Dawson Bryant) or Ironton coupled with an always popular "cross river / KY vs. OH." rivalry would meet the tough competition, fan (area wide) interest / big $$ gate for both schools plus rivalry forming.

So, it's decided play (if possible) one OH. opponent , either Ironton or CG if possible. Then here's another idea ....try to get one of the WVA teams close to or in Huntington, WVa....Wayne, WVa comes to mind and they are pretty much in Every Year a state championship contenders in their WVA Classsification. Ideas for in state teams if you could get them imo would be some of the NKY or possibly WKY schools in 1A or 2A.

Those are just some thoughts and I am aware that my suggestions and $1.00 will get one a cup of coffee at McDonalds.

Next year, Boyd has dropped us. We had to drop Coal Grove and Ironton due to the both of them having scheduling conflicts from within their conference. Raceland will now play West Carter, Russell and Lucasville Valley.

I hope he is wrong,but if anybody would know it would be Doc.This is a bad move for Raceland and for West Carter.I think the Rams still need one more game,they need to make it a good one because I know of a lot of Ram fans that are not going to be happy being the Carter County Champs.
