I watched the Central vs. Scott County scrimmage and that was the greenest Central team I have seen since 2009...probably even greener.

 

Lots of big bodies on their line but definitely were not playing cohesive football. On defense they were considerably undersized compared to past teams and were not very good at tackling, taking angles, or coverage skills.

 

Scorggins is a great coach and will make this team night and day better by November...but right now Central is simply a very young team that is very unpolished.

With several more 6A schools on the schedule, including St. Xavier and PRP later this year, things aren't liable to lighten up anytime soon.

Manual is a great team with several threats on offense, led by Nero, Comstock, Blackford, and Wrist. They have a defense that is playing at a high level only allowing 7 points and 143 total yards against Bowling Green and Central according to their stats. They have had 8 sacks in the two competitions. Manual could very well get over the hump this year and knock off Trinity and St. X. Only time will tell.
